Pain Relief
EFT is referred to as tapping or psychological acupressure. EFT can be extremely effective for pain relief when done with a qualified and effective practitioner. Tapping the body can create a balance in your energy system and treat pain, and has been used by thousands of people to relieve chronic pain and nerve pain.
Not many are aware of the energy release that happens in modalities like EFT. Borrowed from body anatomy and nerve structures used in Accupressure/Accupuncture, EFT uses certain clearing of mind beliefs by tapping certain parts of body (where pain source is stored) giving instant relief in many cases.
Addiction
An addiction is a condition that is the result of the uncontrollably repetitive use of a substance (alcohol, drugs, tobacco, cocaine, nicotine, caffeine), or engagement in any activity (gambling, sex, shopping) that gives you pleasure. Your intake becomes a compulsion and necessity. Addiction interferes with your daily responsibilities and hampers your work, relationships, and health.
If you are addicted, you may not realise that your behaviour is problematic. You may not understand that you are engaging in your addiction excessively. Even if you do, you may not be able to deal with the stress of not continuing that action. Both, addictive substances and highly intense actions trigger the release of dopamine in the individual’s brain. This hormone is one of the body’s reward systems – it makes you feel good. The drugs releases toxins inside your body which makes you feel calm and peaceful, the alcohol seems to make people happy, and marijuana makes you feel high which your body enjoys.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) has been recognized in over 100 clinical trials demonstrating its efficacy in the treatment of a variety of psychological and physical conditions – including alcohol cravings. By tapping the energy meridians, practitioners can apparently release energy blockages in the body that give way to physical and psychological problems such as fear, addiction, anger, anxiety and more.
Trauma
EFT tapping is an alternative acupressure therapy treatment used to restore balance to your disrupted energy. It's been an authorized treatment for war veterans with PTSD, and it's demonstrated some benefits as a treatment for anxiety, depression, physical pain, and insomnia.
An analysis of seven studies showed that a series of EFT sessions is effective for a variety of populations with PTSD. No adverse effects occurred, and EFT techniques were effective both as a primary treatment and as a self-help technique.
Clinical EFT is generally effective with PTSD in four to 10 sessions.
Sleep
Sometimes a person doesn't even realize sleep was an issue until they've been tapping for a few days and begin to experience better sleep. Why does tapping work? In a nutshell: Tapping reduces cortisol levels. High cortisol accompanies stress and – you guessed it – sleep.
If the underlying sleep issues has an attached trauma/pain in mind-body (it usually does) then it might take a few sessions for the patient to experience deep sleep. If the issue is a temporary anxiety, then a single tapping session has demonstrated wonders in our practices.
